First step is to cut a 3″ hole after tracing the opening in the skin
Hole is cut but there is some debris inside that will need to be vacuumed out with the shopvac
Then we drill the holes for the site gauges and aft fuel withdrawal line
Then we install the fittings in the holes with Locktite blue on the outer threads that the nuts use to hold the bulkhead fittings, and Permatex thread sealant for all the inner threads that may contact fuel over time.
Both tanks laid out and waiting for the thread sealant to dry before doing a 1PSI pressure test. Note that aft fuel withdrawal fittings toward the camera, the site gauge fittings between the tanks and the fuel caps resting on top for now (these will be installed after the tanks are put back in the wings).
