After (mostly) finishing the tailcone and skins, much of the work now moves forward to the cage…

We assembled the rudder pedals

The flight control sticks

The seats

We carefully placed the sliding seat plates onto the cage at the right locations.

And even installed (hand tightened) the seat belts

After that we flipped the fuselage over to install the cockpit belly skin and side skins

Some of the transfer drilling on the side skins was difficult because the holes can’t be reached from anywhere to transfer through, so the manual suggests making paper templates to find those holes from other holes that can be transfer drilled from the inside. Then the templates are used to transfer the remaining holes based on the ones you’ve already drilled.

Once we’re happy with everything, it is time for the final riveting. Note the landing gear holes in the skin (two in the middle, and 4 on the sides). The were lined up with the landing gear mounting points on the cage.

At this point, we will likely move on to the landing gear and the firewall, I think.
