Most of the time, I won’t be using the ladder to climb down from the balcony of BaanLoiNaam (the floating house) into the pond. And when it is just sitting in the water, over time it seems to get pretty dirty.
So my intention from the beginning was to be able to remove it from the balcony and mount it up on the wall. Here is the mount:

All in all, it is a nice setup. The ladder itself doesn’t weigh very much so lifting it up or bringing it back down is not too difficult.

And while keeping it clean is my primary motivation, I can’t help but admit that the idea of BaanLoiNaam floating in the middle of the pond at night with the ladder removed so that intruders can’t easily swim out and climb up does fill me with the pride of having a small moat. 😉
