Today we went out tree shopping for the landscaping and stopped off for lunch at Anya’s Place, a restaurant located in Salaya.

They have a very large selection on their menu (ridiculously so in my opinion), but the good part about that is it is pretty easy to find something to eat. Thai food, Chinese food, Western food, cocktails, steaks, you name it.

The even have a full pizzeria with traditional pizza oven:

We went with a tomato basil soup served in a bread bowl for appetizer

Praew went with a childhood favorite dish of Shanghai noodles

I haven’t had BBQ ribs in a long while so I tried their citrus glazed BBQ spare ribs

All of the food was as good as it looks. The citrus glaze BBQ ribs had a strong orange flavor that reminded me of duck a l’orange, and the Shanghai noodles seemed to be exactly what Praew was hoping for.

The only slight disappointment was the drink. We ordered an interesting looking passion fruit, banana, mint soda combination.

It wasn’t really bad, but for some unknown reason it had a strange syrupy artificial flavor that strongly reminded me of Jolly Ranchers candy from my childhood. (Maybe watermelon or cherry flavor.) Not sure why that would be so.

For dessert we ordered an ice cream over apple poached in red wine sauce and a Choux cream

Praew also ordered a specialty drink called “Coffee Constantine” which was described as an Americano coffee with honey, milk and cinnamon.

Both desserts and coffee were top tier.

While the service was plentiful, it was quite impersonal. Nonetheless, all-in-all we would definitely go back if we find ourselves in the neighborhood.
