Today we swung by the land after going shopping at Villa just to check up on things. We noticed some nice looking edible plants. In particular, this bush which grows wild on the north side of our pond has some striking orange flowers:

The plant is called “the candle bush” (senna alata) and based on the visitors to our land and this Wikipedia link it appears to be a well known medicinal plant. Apparently it is a topical anti-fungal and good for treating ringworm. Living in the tropics, this knowledge may come in handy. Mostly, I just thought it looked nice, though.

After looking at some of the plants in the garden we decided to take some food home to include in our dinner.

Both of these were fried up and put into a chicken curry that is cooking as I write this:
