Now that the house frame and roofing is in place, the fiber cement board flooring is going in.
As with the first house, the fiber cement board helps to create a “termite barrier” between the cement footings on the ground below and the wood that makes up the house up above.
I’m sure it isn’t fool proof, but why make it easier for the termites by giving them a wooden meal within reach of their burrows in the ground? I figure anything that makes it a bit more difficult for them will help.
I’ll see in a few years how well it works.
