These last few days have been more rustic than any I can remember.
Waking up in the morning and making a simple breakfast of eggs (fresh from our chickens!), sausage and toasted croissant in our little outdoor kitchen.
After breakfast, we feed the dogs and make some minor repairs and upgrades around the house to make it incrementally more comfortable.
Afterward it is the hot part of the day, so we just sit on the balcony with several fans blowing over us and read books.
It is worth mentioning that the daytime high temperatures are up around 40C now (104F) with the online weather website “feels like” temperatures being reported as almost 50C (120F). So resting in the middle of the day seems like a sound strategy.
K’Tanawat, who first brought us the chickens and has been taking care of them didn’t swing by today, so I checked up on the chickens to make sure they had water and feed.
After that, a cold hard apple cider is surprisingly refreshing to beat the heat.
And now for a nap. I’m hoping if I can sleep through the remainder of the heat, I can do some more work after it cools down.
