I mentioned previously that I wanted a push cart or wagon of some sort to push heavy things around the land on the walkway. We saw a nice example with the workers that brought the trees.

So our workers quickly whipped up a useful little push cart from a pair of tuk-tuk wheels and some metal. Most of the metal was scrap from other projects. But the wheels and axles cost about $100. So the entire project cost about $120 or so.

It was surprisingly easy to push. They balanced it well. Here is a picture of Praew pushing it on the walkway:

And here are a few more pictures…

It still needs one more piece of sheet metal welded onto the right side, but you can see that piece in the bed of the cart ready to be mounted. Other than that, it just needs some anti-rust paint and it should be good to go.

Our target was to be able to handle up to about 500kg at a time. With one person pulling and one person pushing, this out to be fairly manageable on the walkway. This should allow the workers to haul stones and sand and the like around without having to drive trucks into the mud. (Where the truck tires dig deep trenches in the spots where I want to start planting my garden.)

The first use for it? To haul sand, stepping stones, and cement around the walkway to the end of the walkway where we want to build… more walkway. (The walkway is supposed to go all the way around the pond.)

We should get started on that within a week.

And then my morning jogs can go all the way around without getting stuck in the mud. 🙂
