The guy we bought trees from was pretty excited by our organically filtered pond and mentioned he had a whole bunch of water plants that we could grow in the filter zone that he would throw in for free.

The plants were thalia geniculata plants.

First we had to clear all of the invasive Thai morning glory out of the filtration zones

We ended up dumping a whole bunch of the stuff into our compost piles (this is only about half of it):

Then they planted the new water plants around in the sand filtration zones:

I’m really curious how it will turn out once the water gets all the way up and the plants sprout out new leaves and flowers.
