We’re now getting ready to run the final water and electrical mains to the first house. The trench has been dug the whole way about 1m (~40in) deep. The water main pipe has been laid down, but the HDPE pipe for the electrical won’t arrive for a couple more days. We are actually thinking to add a second water pipe and have 2 HDPE pipes for the electrical wires (only one with actual wires inside). This will give us some redundancy in case we have problems later. The cost of a bit of extra pipe is not much and it would really save a lot of hassle down the road if we need to switch over. We wouldn’t need to do any digging at all.
