The laying down of the washed gravel has been mostly completed and now we are beginning to lay down the washed sand. The washing process is still quite slow and laborious, but all options for purchasing gravel or sand already washed have been impractical.
Here is a picture of the main regeneration zone now:
You can see that the gravel is up to the very top of the 12″ PVC pipe. (Remember that the holes for sucking up the water are drilled into the bottom of the pipe.) And the first section of sand is beginning to be laid down in the distance.

The gravel is mostly complete. I asked the workers to lay down a few more centimeters of gravel so it gets up to the top of the pipe. Then we will begin on the sand in this section, too.
