Today, K’Tanawat dropped off the chickens. The coop is not completely decorated with egg laying nesting boxes and some sawdust on the floor, but he brought them a day earlier than we expected. Here are a few pictures at sunset:

We added a ladder for them to be able to climb up to the second level and an electrical light shortly after sunset:

They appear pretty happy so far. We looked up the breed in a few places, and they are most likely a hybrid breed that the Thai government promotes. It is a hybrid of the “Rhode Island Red” and a local Thai breed of chicken.
Maybe in a week or two, I will taste my first fresh chicken egg omelette.
